Grief strikes at my heart and my massage trauma training is set into real-time practice. What do we do with our emotions and an exhausted physical body when catastrophe finds it way to our door step. All our young lives we dream and when we gain our gifts and abilities we create our perfect retreat. Inspired geographically by what we found; it seems this place had all the characteristics of one of those protected places on earth? Mother Nature catches us by surprise to test our willingness, endurance and benevolence in adversity. We are depleted, but not defeated! We have worked together with unbelievable courage and no real rewards in site, but a desire to see that others have what basic needs we had been taking for granted- fresh air and nature, water, food and connection in the form of kind words, touch(hand-shake or hug or bodywork), cell phone or internet.

Even though we are taken off guard; it doesn’t mean we can not be take of guard in delight! We learn to find the silver lining.
